The energy was electric as Nike unveiled its highly anticipated Air Max 95 HBCU Collection, celebrating the heritage and pride of Norfolk State University, Florida A&M University, Morehouse College, and Spelman College. The dual-location launch—held at The Athlete’s Foot and on the historic Morehouse College campus—brought together students, alumni, local sneaker enthusiasts, and community leaders for a day that blended culture, style, and legacy.
At Morehouse, the campus served as the heartbeat of the celebration. Students from both Morehouse and Spelman gathered for a rollout featuring The Athlete’s Foot pop-up installation, photo moments, and appearances from student leaders and alumni. Interactive stations allowed guests to learn more about each school’s influence on Black history and culture—threads woven directly into the sneaker designs.
A few days later at The Athlete’s Foot, attendees were greeted with immersive displays showcasing each university’s unique colorways and design elements. From FAMU’s vibrant, fearless spirit to Norfolk State’s bold green-and-gold identity, every pair highlighted the traditions and stories that define these institutions. Store staff and brand representatives guided guests through the inspiration behind the collection, while live DJ’s from each school kept the atmosphere buzzing.
The launch wasn’t just a product release; it was a tribute. The event honored the legacy of HBCUs while spotlighting the creativity and culture that continue to shape them. With strong turnout at both venues, the Nike AM 95 HBCU Collection debuted not only as a must-have sneaker series, but as a powerful nod to tradition, community, and pride.
